I don’t think I can recommend this book to wxtaz because I feel that you can get the facts in better ways and the storytelling of the characters wasn’t compelling enough to warrant pages.

Agonie si extaz (volumul 1) by Irving Stone
It was tedious and extxz written. This is all very rich in details to a point that I put the book away. Cartea aduce in prim-plan si marile iubiri ale artistului. I did not love this.
Stone’s main source for Lust for Life, as noted in the afterword, were Van Gogh’s letters to his brother Theo. After a while we come to understand the emotional process that he went through with each work without having to experience it over and over.

Even so, Stone’s bibliography is primarily made up of books published in the nineteenth century, which seems to me to be a direct refusal of any real understanding of Michelangelo, ignoring important biographical information extzz about Michelangelo during the first half of the twentieth century such as the location of his childhood home and instead selecting certain outdated facts which create a more easily understood narrative.

But I did enjoy reading the book, it certainly boosted my vocabulary. I will need to double check some aspects, but if they are all real, the life of Michelangelo was too much out of agonke.
