Librp think politics are crucial to any good fantasy that takes place in a medieval setting with castles and rulers, but I find that they can make or break my interest in the story.

While I adored all the characters and their relationships, the world-building and story line of this book is really where it shines.

I enjoyed this fantasy book despite not particularly connecting with the main character. There are seven kingdoms and I would not be able to detail customs, names or climate of many of them.

I expected to find some kind of real action in this book. Highly recommend this read. Las tres historias tienen todo lo que me gusta en un libro: My favorite Grace is the ability to direct someone else’s dreams.

Katsa herself is a rich character.

Although Bitterblue follows characters introduced in Graceling and features cameos from characters in Fire, I do think it could be read as a standalone, or gracelling a sequel to Graceling, omitting Fire. Leck’s a much more deeply personal nightmare, and I would think some readers — especially sensitive readers and younger readers — would not thank Cashore for giving them that nightmare.

Katsa is able to kill anyone with her bare hands and is a skilled fighter.

That’s not quite what it’s called, but the concept is the same. Cashore’s conclusion satisfies, but readers will clamor for a sequel to the prequel a book bridging the gap between this one and Graceling.

She writes great characters and interesting political plotlines with shocking revelations throughout. gracfling

By the end of the novel, all the plots were tied up neatly and came together nicely. The allusions to what I’m calling “upsetting content” are subtler in Graceling than they are in Fire, so you can skim over a few paragraphs in Graceling and be left unsettled but not utterly disgusted, but if you’re sensitive, it will still linger and upset you. Anything, and he used this power to try to rebuild his fantasy world, without, of course, graceliing the cost to anyone.
