He manages to make learning Latin quite gettihg indeed, my only complaint is that he made the subject perhaps too easy. For example, Getting Started with Latin teaches only the first and second declensions for nouns and the first two conjugations for verbs. I would like to encourage him to undertake both! It is, indeed, from what I can tell, an interesting language; Latin grammar puts even German case agreement to shame for subtlety. If you use both the book and audio recordings, you are getting a substantial course for an amazingly low price.

To be sure, this book is only a beginning for the aspiring Latin reader; but it is a very pleasant beginning. How I personally went through this was to write down how I translated each sentence exercise into a stared, check to see if I was right at the back, and then write the Latin sentence while saying eith aloud so I could remember it better.
Parents should be able to easily keep up with younger students if they work together through one of the courses. Our customer reviews I have always been a language lover but one tongue always intimidated me with its many cases, declensions and verb tables – Latin. But after looking through all the lessons, I’ve decided this is a fairly OK beginning. My kids are now 7 and Kindle Edition Verified Purchase. Following this method the learner never feels overwhelmed, after learning a few nouns and verbs, one can quickly and naturally move on to correctly produce simple sentences.
I’m just wondering weather to hop onto the Cambridge books or something else after I finish initial book or just carry on with Linney via Gunnison book, which was written at the turn of the 20th century.

Being Australian there isn’t much emphasis on this influential language as there should be and as there is in other countries such as the UK and US. I’ll be using John Collins’ Ecclesiastical Latin textbook next, but I think this gave me a good start.
With everything you need here in one book, why aren’t you Getting Started with Latin?
This book does a wonderful job at breaking Latin down so that it isn’t overwhelming. Starting out in Latin.
